To me, Dann Cucuta is one of the staple names in Steel City Combat Sports. The first time that I ever saw Dann Cucuta fight, it was in a bout with a man named Matt McWilliams. The performance that I saw from Cucuta was competitive and dynamic; Cucuta was springboarding off of the side of the cage to improve cage position, he was striking with pinpoint accuracy, and he was so stoic in the cage that no one would have guessed that he’d suffered one of the worst boxer’s breaks that an athlete can experience. After a few surgeries and a healthy amount of surgical steel, Cucuta came back with “the Bionic Fist of Justice.”

Dann Cucuta’s amateur career was a hit list of exciting knockouts, submissions you wouldn’t expect from a kickboxing tactician, and a decision victory in the fight where Cucuta broke his fist. As a professional, Dann Cucuta has had some incredibly spectacular finishes, such as the Hail Mary elbow that ended the fight with Jesse Murray because of the resulting cut, the first round knockout of Kyle Dunmeyer, and his King of the Cage debut which resulted in a second round knockout of Kyle Nickle.

The intangible aspect of Dann Cucuta’s fight game includes his training camps. Cucuta has been known to train with Pittsburgh’s regional best including “the Pride of Bloomfield” Mark Cherico, Bellator veteran Dominic “the Honey Badger” Mazzotta, and UFC veteran “The Prototype” Adam Milstead. Cucuta is very active in promoting his own fights, and is a sure fire crowd favorite in the Steel City.
